School Leadership Coaching

The Loneliest Job in Education

As a school leader in a smaller district or charter school, you carry a weight that leaders in larger districts rarely face alone — there's often no one down the hall who truly understands the job.

A Confidential Thinking Partner — Not Another Evaluator

Your supervisor or director may be a capable leader, but they're also the person who evaluates you. That means the mentor you most need is often the one person you can't afford to be fully honest with. I work exclusively as your coach — no ties to your evaluation, your contract, or your district's politics. This is a space to think out loud, test ideas, and work through the real challenges of the job, without it ever showing up on a performance review.

With over 35 years in education and school leadership, I bring experience at the elementary, middle, and high school levels, as a principal supervisor, and as Director of the Utah Center for School Improvement — plus my roots as an elementary and special education teacher. I've sat where you sit, and I've helped leaders across the state navigate the isolation that comes with leading in a smaller school district.
